VETERANS DAY
What Veterans Day Is All About
Veterans Day falls every November 11, marking the anniversary of the 1918 Armistice that ended the fighting in World War I. Congress renamed the holiday in 1954 to honor every man and woman who has served in the U.S. armed forces — not only those who died in service, which is what Memorial Day is for. Communities across the country mark it with parades, memorial ceremonies, and a simple thank-you to those who served. Here in Vancouver, we mark it the same way — by welcoming veterans and their families through our doors and saying thank you for your service.

Why This Matters to Us
"Three of our children proudly serve in the United States military, carrying on a proud family tradition passed down from my father, who was a high-ranking officer and a true maverick in the U.S. Air Force."
